The mission of NSSC is to provide cost effective surgical case alternatives to hospitalization focusing on high quality outcomes utilizing state of the art surgical services for the attending staff and patients alike which it has accomplished since its inception in 1989.

NSSC’s care goals include patient satisfaction, expanded program development, added surgical volume, and case mix intensity with leadership in outpatient orthopedics, pain management and gastroenterology. Surgery Partners (NASDAQ: SGRY), one of the largest and fastest growing surgical services businesses in the country with more than 180 locations in 30 states, perfectly aligns with NSSC’s goal making them an ideal partner.

The Bloom team worked closely alongside Michael Guarino, the Administrator of NSSC for the past 20+ years, throughout the process to help the physicians select and then negotiate the best terms and ultimately get the transaction completed. “North Shore Surgi-Center has experienced significant growth over the years due to the commitment of the NSSC family from the physician leadership to the dedicated staff. Thanks to the industry expertise and relentless effort of Henry Bloom, Bob Goettling, and Phil Russo of the Bloom team, NSSC was able to reap the benefits of the labor we put in over these past two decades to get NSSC to where we are today” said Michael Guarino. He added “Surgery Partners is a national leader in the outpatient surgical services space who will be able to leverage their resources and skilled professionals for NSSC’s continued growth. Alongside Surgery Partners, we are eager to see what the next chapter brings for NSSC.”
